Kiira Korpi was born in Tampere (Finland) on 26 September 1988; she began skating in 1993 when she was 5. In 2004 she won both the Junior national championship and Nordic countries.
In her competitive career she has collected three European medals (bronze in 2007 and 2011, silver in 2012), five victories in the Finnish national championship (2009, 2011–2013, 2015) and two participations at the Olympic games.
